The short version: no accounts, no cookies, no ads, no cross-site tracking. The simulator runs entirely in your browser.

Right now

The simulator runs locally in your browser tab; your plant state and progress stay on your machine (in your browser’s local storage) and are never uploaded.

The only thing collected is an anonymous page-view count, through Vercel Web Analytics — the host this site is served from. For each page you open it records the page address, the referring link, and coarse device information (country, device type, browser, operating system). It sets no cookies, stores no persistent identifier, and cannot follow you to other sites. Nothing you do inside the simulator is recorded.

Planned: anonymous usage telemetry

A future update will add lightweight, anonymous telemetry so I can see how the simulator is used and which training missions need work. When it ships, this page will be updated, and here is what it will and won’t do:

• A random anonymous ID is generated in your browser — it is not derived from you or your device, and it identifies a browser, not a person.
• Events describe simulator usage: which plant you loaded, session length, mission pass/fail. No free text, no keystrokes, no personal information.
• Your country (two-letter code only) is inferred server-side from the request. Your IP address is never stored.
• There will be a setting to turn telemetry off entirely.

Feedback reports

If you submit feedback, the report contains what you wrote, and — only if you attach it — a telemetry capture of your simulator session (plant state and command history; nothing about your device or identity). An email address is asked for but optional, used only to reply, and never shared.
